Lindsey Slater, a popular Milwaukee meteorologist, is no longer with WISN-TV (Channel 12).

Slater didn't appear as usual on the station's morning newscasts the week of Feb. 23-27, and the WISN-TV staff page no longer lists her name.

Milwaukee Business Journal first reported Slater's departure. WISN-TV President and General Manager Shawn Oswald told employees in an email that "we wish her well in her future endeavors," according to the report.

Slater has also updated her LinkedIn page to reflect that her time at the station ended in February.

Here's what we know and don't know about it:

Oswald said WISN-TV has launched a search for Slater's replacement, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal report.

Meteorologists Molly Bernard and Gino Recchia have handled the weather reports during the weekday morning shows in Slater's absence.

As the normal weekend meteorologists' schedules changed, former CBS 58 meteorologist Mark McGinnis filled in during the weekend newscasts.

It's not clear.

WISN-TV hasn't announced a reason for Slater's departure, and Slater hasn't shared any information on her social media.

Neither Oswald nor Slater responded to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel request for comment. The TV station typically doesn't comment on personnel matters.

Slater had been with Channel 12 for nearly a decade, according to her LinkedIn page. She joined the station in 2016, and had been the on-air early morning meteorologist since July 2019.

WISN-12 was also Slater's introduction to broadcast meteorology when she interned there in 2006, she told he Journal Sentinel in 2018. After her internship, Slater worked in Madison; Jackson, Mississippi; and Springfield, Missouri.
