8:52 a.m.: I-10 westbound has reopened after nearly two hours. Traffic is moving slowly and MDOT says drivers should still expect major delays.

8:40 a.m.: Monday’s incident on I-10 westbound was a series of three crashes, according to Landon Orozco, a spokesperson for the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Orozco reports two of the crashes have been cleared, and it could take up to 45 minutes for westbound lanes to be reopened. He added that there were no life-threatening injuries in any of the crashes.

8:20 a.m.: At 8:17 a.m., MDOT reported that the backup is expected to last nearly another hour.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation is reporting that all westbound lanes of Interstate 10 are closed in Jackson County.

At 7:55 a.m. MDOT reported a crash near Exit 61 has shut down all traffic and the closure is expected to last at least 25 minutes.

MDOT’s live traffic tracker shows the backup stretching from near the Mile 64 marker almost to Exit 69.
