Colonel Bruce Crandall, the American military hero whose bravery in the Vietnam War saved dozens of lives and earned him the Medal of Honor, has died at 93. On November 14th, 1965, then-Major Crandall, an Army helicopter pilot, flew 22 missions over the course of 14 hours under heavy enemy fire during the Battle of Ia Drang.
