(NEXSTAR) – What began as a Texas-only convenience store has since grown to a beloved travel destination with more than 60 stores across a dozen states, and even more locations on the way.

Flush with Beaver Nuggets, brisket, and more souvenirs than you could ever expect a fueling station to carry, Buc-ee’s has been experiencing a growth spurt in recent years.

Back in 2021, Buc-ee’s boasted a footprint of just over 40 locations. All but six were in Texas, with other locations in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. Today, you can find more than 50 locations across 12 states (36 are in Texas).

When is Father’s Day 2026? As late as possible

Buc-ee’s will soon be open in a 13th state, with the planned opening of its new store in Goodyear, Arizona, set for the Monday after Father’s Day.

Arkansas expects to see its first location in Benton, with a slated opening date of Aug. 17. Just days before that, another Texas location is scheduled to open in San Marcos on Aug. 12, according to local reporting. In the fall, a location in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is expected to open.

Eight more Buc-ee’s locations are currently on track to open in 2027:

Tallahassee, Florida

Forsyth, Georgia

Kansas City, Kansas

Lafayette, Louisiana

Mebane, North Carolina

Oak Creek, Wisconsin

A location in West Memphis, Arkansas, is expected to open in 2028. Construction timelines can change, which means these stores could open sooner or later than planned.

Beyond 2028, Buc-ee’s is working to open new travel centers in Ocala and Port Charlotte, Florida; Oak Grove, Kentucky; Hardeeville, South Carolina; Boerne, Texas; and New Kent County, Virginia.

Earlier this year, officials in Gretna, Nebraska, approved a plan that could result in the state’s first-ever Buc-ee’s store. Groundbreaking could happen this fall, according to local reporting.

Plans have been approved for a location in Mansfield, Ohio, which could be completed in 2028. The state’s inaugural Buc-ee’s opened earlier this year in Huber Heights.

Locations for Stafford County, Virginia, and Springville, Utah, also previously received approval.

According to Buc-ee’s, it takes about 18 to 24 months to build a travel center once construction begins.
