SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) โ€” A crash on northbound Interstate 5 near Carmel Mountain Road impacted multiple lanes and caused significant delays for Friday morning commuters.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident, first reported around 7:05 a.m., temporarily forced the closure of several lanes on the freeway.

Authorities say the HOV lane along with the two left lanes and middle lane were blocked as crews responded to the scene. The right two lanes remained open, but traffic quickly backed up in the area.

Drivers were advised to expect delays in the area and consider alternative routes.

In an update, at 7:30 a.m., CHP said all lanes have since reopened to traffic.

No additional details, including how many vehicles were involved and whether there were any injuries, were immediately released.
