“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Monday said President Donald Trump’s war with Iran has already reportedly cost $6 billion.

“Yeah, it’s surprising,” he said. “Did you know what you could buy with $6 billion? Twenty-seven Kristi Noem horsey commercials.”

Noem lost her job as homeland security secretary last week after a poor performance during hearings before Congress ― including an exchange in which she was grilled over a $220 million ad campaign for the agency in which she was prominently featured on horseback.

Colbert said Trump has yet to articulate exactly what he’s hoping to accomplish in Iran or when it will end.

But the president did say he wants to help pick the nation’s next leader.

“We don’t want to come back every five years or every 10 years and do this,” Trump said. “So, we want to pick a president that’s not gonna be leading their country into a war.”

That led Colbert to a question of his own.

“When can we pick one of those?” he asked.

The audience cheered.
