“I did have to actually smash my face on the floor, and we had to shoot it twice.”

Tom: It is actually very intentional. We sit around for a long time, go through the internet, and look at things we can try and put in, you know, Easter eggs. Destin was really keen to find a way to bring all of his favourite Spider-Man comic covers to life, which was an awesome idea but was very difficult to execute. Trying to bring them to life in slow motion was NOT easy.

Tom: It was obvious to everyone that it needed to happen and you know what, it was Andrew's idea to do it then. It was when we were in the science room and you [Ned] had the line, "Peter... Peter One... Peter Parker... " and Andrew had the idea that this is how we could get it in, because it's hard to get it in organically.

Zendaya: My fave bit about that is when you slide in and you [Ned] ask him [Toby Maguire's Peter] about what happened to his best friend, and you're, like, traumatized... 

Zendaya: I know! What are the odds of that? I have no idea how, but it just happened; Wimbledon, Battle of the Sexes, and Challengers.

Tom: You know what's also weirder? Name another tennis movie...

Zendaya: Yeah, just the three of us holding it down for tennis movies.

Tom: It is a weird thing, people love watching Peter suffer.

Tom: Guess what? The fans are going to gonna get a lot of it this movie. This is, like, the tip of the iceberg.

Tom: Shooting this scene was a rough day for me. I really committed to blacking out, and we shot it twice. It didn't work the first time. I had to hit the floor and land and smash my head on the floor. I did have to actually smash my face on the floor, and we had to shoot it twice.

Tom: I love how you do this, this is so natural. 

Jacob: My whole demeanor is like 'Ted Talk guy'.
