Gaining a spouse, but losing several friends.

I'm a Senior Staff Writer who writes a wide range of topics, spanning from people's real-life drama to pop culture to funny things I find on the internet.

The post says: "My co-maid of honor (friends since 6th grade) moved away recently and has yet to land a job but just told me she will be late to my bachelorette party (because she does not want to take time off from a new job), so I was understanding about that. But now, since my rehearsal dinner is on a Friday night, she is telling me she will miss that altogether because her other friend from New York just decided to get married a week after me, and she does not want to take more time off. The rehearsal dinner is not until 7 p.m., and she could fly in (her new town is not far from New York). She also has to come back multiple times for another friend of hers getting married later this year. She chose the worst time to move. How is any of this my fault? She knew when we postponed last year the dates of the rehearsal dinner and the bachelorette party. I was fine with the bachelorette party but the rehearsal dinner also is too much. She is not acting like a maid of honor. Not sure what to do. Thanks for letting me vent. Any advice about how to handle this would be great."
