OK: Picture really fruity, flavorful mango gummies with a perfect chewy, pillowy texture. Now imagine them coated in chamoy and fresh chile powder. The result is a sticky candy (I eat them with chopsticks out of the bag) that's so mind-blowingly flavorful, it'll bring a tear to your eye.

Promising review: "The mango combined with the spices makes this a super tasty snack. The spice level is mild to medium, depending on your tolerance. The consistency is super-sticky, probably from the tamarind pulp. It is a messy snack and difficult to separate without being even more messy. But it is worth the mess." —Joseph R.

Get it from Amazon for $9.99 (also available in six other styles).

It’s so easy to use — durable, high quality, and can be removed and replaced if I’m too hasty in placing it over my notes. All five colors are bright, and the tape doesn’t bleed my notes like some highlighting pens do. What a great value! I suspect I’ll find many more uses and will definitely purchase more! And it’s FUN to use because the results look so good!" —MJ

Ticonderoga makes the best #2 pencils, IMO, so it makes sense their erasers are good too.

Promising review: "This is the second school year I am buying these for my daughter because she loves them that much and they last the whole year. They are Ticonderoga, so of course they work the best of all the brands. (Their pencils are a teacher’s first choice. 😉) They are so cute and cheap for as long as they last. Also, they don’t leave a lot of residue, and when it comes to erasing, that’s huge!" —S. Wallace

Get a pack of three from Amazon for $4.99.

The puzzles are logic puzzles, not Sudoku puzzles, so expect clues and a graph to help you rule out suspects.

Promising review: "Amazing! These puzzles are so fun. It’s nice that they start easy and get harder, so you can get used to the format first, then continue to be challenged as you learn how they work. Fun, visually appealing, and sprinkled with humor. I finished this one in about 1.5 months (of fairly dedicated work) and ordered Volume 2 before I was even done with the first one. It’s a higher price point than many puzzle books, but you get high quality for what you pay." —EN

Promising review: "Oh my gosh, so cute. The bells rang as my daughter walked. Great quality. She wore striped tights and shorts underneath it. Highly recommend. Comes vacuum sealed, but fluffs up quickly. Heavy felt-like material." —Scorpica

Promising review: "I had no idea my gnome BFFs were going to kill me. I had been going about my silly life, never thinking their cheery faces were actually plotting my demise. They're clever little boogers. While this book did suggest a good amount of ways to protect yourself from these pointed hat-wearing twerps, I simply used it to beat them away as they came at me. (: Problem solved. I do recommend this book to someone who likes gnomes or someone who is looking for something to be paranoid about. (It does suggest the neighbors' gnomes are after you too, even if you don't own them yourself. Never go to bed thinking you're safe. NEVER.) It not only made me laugh like a goon while I was waiting at the DMV, but it was so epic that I had to order one for my fellow gnome-loving friend. It saved her life, too. Giggle at it or take it seriously, or maybe do a bit of both as I did — it's worth the read." —SB
