President Donald Trump welcomed the morning of July Fourth with a concise post insulting Democrats.

“Has anyone ever seen a Happy Dumocrat?” he wrote on his Truth Social platform, using his recently coined nickname for members of the Democratic Party. He signed the query, “President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

His rhetorical questioned followed two middle-of-the-night posts seemingly targeting the appearances of two prominent Democrats. The first post included an image of Democratic Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff next to a photo of Pee-wee Herman, the comedic character played by Paul Reubens.

The second post showed an image of James Talarico, the Democratic candidate in Texas for U.S. Senate, edited so it appears that he is missing teeth. The edited image of Talarico was placed alongside one of cartoon character Alfred E. Neuman, the mascot of Mad magazine.

Later in the day, Trump talked up the Independence Day celebrations in Washington, D.C., after a planned parade was canceled due to extreme heat.

“Despite the heat, which isn’t as bad as predicted, the crowds in D.C. are INCREDIBLE!” he wrote. “The love of our Country has never been stronger!”
