Trump White House’s Taylor Swift Stunt Enters Its ‘So F**king Cringe’ Era
Images
The Trump White House came under fire on Thursday for a Taylor Swift-themed social media post promoting Donald Trump. “It’s been a long time coming…,” the White House captioned a post on X titled “America’s Eras Tour,” an apparent parody of Swift’s blockbuster Eras Tour poster featuring images of Trump at the center of iconic moments in U.S. history. The post came amid speculation that pop star Swift is set to marry her fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce, at Madison Square Garden this weekend. The rumored celebrity wedding of the summer could end up overshadowing Trump’s efforts to make the July 4 holiday and America’s 250th birthday celebrations all about himself. See the post on X. Some critics urged Swift, who endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris against Trump in the 2020 and 2024 elections, to sue the White House over the image. Others joked that “Eras” was a typo and should have been replaced with “Error” or “Errors.” One user reimagined the montage as Trump’s “failures” tour, while another inserted late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a former close associate of Trump, into the collage. “You do know no ones paying attention to your HOT MESS of a Fourth of July celebration in DC. This just brings more attention to what people are really following, Tay and Kelsie’s wedding!” zinged another. Others branded the post “so tacky,” “so cringy” and “just so fucking cringe.” And someone imagined how Swift could one-up the July 4 address of Trump, who has declared his hatred for the musician in the past: “I hope she posts wedding photos in the middle of his speech.” So tacky. I can’t wait for decency to return to the WH You’re fucking pathetic and I hope Taylor sues you Still jealous of Taylor?
