(NewsNation) — A new court filing shows that the partner of the man accused of killing conservative political activist Charlie Kirk was given limited immunity for a statement made to prosecutors. Tyler Robinson‘s partner, Lance Twiggs, gave a statement to investigators after Robinson turned himself in, a new court filing revealed. Usha Vance on Erika Kirk’s influence on decision to have fourth child Twiggs was given limited use immunity for his statements, telling investigators about electronic messages allegedly sent by Robinson that admitted he killed Charlie Kirk. Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at a campus event in Utah. Robinson turned himself in to investigators at the urging of family members. Twiggs has been described as Robinson’s roommate and romantic partner. According to the newly filed document, Twiggs initially spoke with investigators, telling them that Robinson had admitted to killing Kirk to himself and others via electronic messages. On Apr. 20, 2026, the documents show that Twiggs gave a recorded statement under oath, describing Robinson’s alleged comments to himself. Luigi Mangione pivoting to a psychiatric defense The filing says he was given “an admonition that any false statements would be punishable by law and could be charged as obstruction of justice.” Twiggs was then given limited-use immunity by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Utah County Attorney’s Office, so that the statements could not be used against him.
