Is the biggest food trend of 2026 worth the hype? I'm Adriana, an NYC-based freelance writer for Tasty and BuzzFeed Shopping. According to TikTok, #dotcakes has increased nearly 180x, and searches for Dot Cakes have increased over 35x from May 10 to June 8. The hashtag #dotcakerecipe is also up 70% week over week. The portions are also generous — about the size of a small frozen yogurt cup. You could easily split one cake between two people I picked up the cakes the morning after a restock day, so there was no issue with presentation or freshness.
