The Trump Administration Can't Stop Taking L's, And These 7 Restored My Faith In Justice A Bit

Wouldn’t it be awful if someone went and made a list? Tee hee! As a Resident Writer here at BuzzFeed, I cover topics like politics, weird history, tech, trending viral stories, and other various corners of the internet. They also noted that "The president is required to publicly disclose stock transactions exceeding $1,000 within 45 days. He was assessed a fee of $200 for his tardiness, records show. He was fined for the same infraction in March and in August, according to his investment filings [for] those months." The attempted ban came after the president signed an executive order early in his second term, directing Hegseth to create new policies for transgender servicemembers. Judge Wilkins said, "that the plaintiffs in the case have served a combined 130 years in the military and have collectively earned more than 80 commendations." He said the Trump administration did not contest that they had served honorably and satisfied military standards." In response to the ruling, Hegseth said on X, "See you at SCOTUS." Though the administration hasn't said specifically why they've decided against moving forward with the fund, it was heavily criticized by Republican Senators Bill Cassidy, John Cornyn, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune. Senator Ted Cruz (who supports the bill) said many Republicans were concerned that people "who committed an act of violence or assaulted law enforcement [on January 6th] would get a payout." CNN also noted that "Some GOP senators also had political concerns, worried that funding the ballroom as Americans wrestle with cost-of-living issues ahead of the midterms would portray them as out-of-touch." In fact, seven of them voted with Democrats in an attempt to block the ballroom's ongoing construction (that amendment unfortunately failed). For now, this all but guarantees that no taxpayer dollars will be used on the ballroom's construction. And the Supreme Court may soon hear a case about the ballroom's construction and decide whether it can continue. According to The Guardian, mentions of Trump's name have already been removed from the website, and, according to the ruling, all references to the president (including the letters mounted on the outside of the building) are supposed to be fully gone by June 12. President Trump later complained about the ruling in a wordy post on Truth Social, saying, "The Kennedy Center will soon be closed, probably never to open again," regarding the repairs he believes the building needs. The states had "argued the requirements were vague, unrelated to nutrition and agriculture programs, and imposed without proper legal procedures," according to USA Today, and the lawsuit "could also affect school meal programs and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, known as WIC." It also didn't seem like he was particularly enjoying himself at the event, as he appeared to be dozing off a bit during the game. Knicks fans seem to think Trump's presence at the game cursed the team (they had won 13 straight games before then), but apparently the people saging the stadium were successful in their cleanse.
