Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Wednesday hit Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-Mont.) with a blunt reminder about the financial pains Americans are facing amid President Donald Trump’s unpopular Iran war. (Watch in the clip below.) “I talk to a lot of people; people are sick of this,” said “The Ingraham Angle” host in an interview with Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-Mont.). As the president threatens to escalate attacks on Iran, seemingly crumbling U.S. efforts to strike a peace deal with the country in pursuit of seizing Kharg Island and more of what he called “oil infrastructure points,” Americans are feeling the pressure on their finances as rising gas prices have helped fuel inflation to a three-year high. With the conflict dragging past its 100-day mark, Ingraham pointed to those questioning why the administration doesn’t “just finish it” or asking why it wasn’t ended “earlier.” “I mean, it is what it is; we are where we are. But those inflation numbers that came in today at 4.2%, the CPI, and there are some nuances with those numbers, but nevertheless, people are feeling this,” she said. “And to minimize that is unwise for a Republican to do. People are hurting. They see a light at the end of the tunnel, a lot of folks, but they want these energy prices to come down.” Ingraham’s on-air comments were made just hours after Trump expressed his “love” for the recent inflation numbers, remarks he confusingly tried to defend by arguing that such high inflation figures should be considered a positive due to the administration secretly swiping “millions” of oil barrels from Iran. Trump’s remarks arrived less than a month after he disregarded Americans’ “financial situations” when asked if they have motivated him to strike a deal to end the war. “Do you think the Iranians thought, ‘Oh, we got him now,’ with the political situation on the ground in the United States? Are they looking at that?” Ingraham asked Sheehy. “Of course they are,” Sheehy responded. “And that’s why it’s been incredibly frustrated to have not just Democrats but some Republicans in the media, from the day this started, take this side of a murderous terrorist regime.” He later claimed that the GOP wasn’t dismissing inflation numbers before chalking up today’s gas prices and inflation to the norm under Joe Biden, adding that the current numbers will be but a “temporary bump” as America tries to “solve” the threat Iran poses.
