British satirical magazine Private Eye marked the imminent start of the FIFA World Cup with a new cover mocking Donald Trump. The publication’s latest front page featured an image of the president with the World Cup trophy. See the cover on Instagram. “World Cup Fever Mounts,” read the headline. In speech bubbles, someone is depicted as asking Trump: “Who’s going to win?” Trump responds: “Me! I’ve already won, everyone says so!” Another person says of the trophy that Trump is holding: “It’s gold, tacky and a symbol of corruption.” Trump replies: “What’s not to like?” The kicker on the bottom references Trump’s targeting of foreign countries: “Group of Death includes Iran, Cuba, Venezuela and Greenland.” Private Eye has mockingly aimed at Trump for years, most recently during King Charles III’s visit to the United States. The World Cup tournament kicks off on Thursday with co-hosts Mexico taking on South Africa in Mexico City.
