Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) has had it with no-show colleague Rep. Tom Kean Jr. (R-N.J.), who has not been seen for months and has missed more than 100 House votes. Boebert called his mystery-shrouded absence “embarrassing.” “No one’s been calling out Tom Kean enough,” she told TMZ in a candid interview on Wednesday. Watch the video here. That would include President Donald Trump, who wrote that Kean was “working tirelessly” and “WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN” before the congressman won his primary unopposed on Tuesday. Kean has said he is on the mend from a health issue and will disclose more later, noting that “transparency” is important. “Where is he?” Boebert said. “No, seriously. It’s embarrassing. We’re supposed to be the party that is against campaigning from the basement.” “I don’t know where this guy is,” she continued. “I haven’t heard from him. I’ve heard people cover for him. Sure, we need a majority but under these circumstances? Maybe I’m working too hard. Because I work my ass off to get reelected and to serve the people of my district. ... This guy hasn’t been here since March and he’s won an election?” Boebert later veered into a not-quite-right “taxation without representation” claim and harkened back to proxy votes in the House during the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the reporter asked her, “If you could talk to him right now, what would you say to him?” “Hi. It’s great to meet you,” she replied. “I’m Lauren Boebert.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
