“I thought that if I said no to doing them, then I wouldn’t have the part.” As a Celebrity Reporter, I cover everything from fashion and award shows to TV, film, and cultural conversations. Similarly, Minka Kelly — who appeared in the show’s second season — once recalled telling Sam that she didn’t want to shoot a scene that involved her dress falling off. “I said, ‘I’d love to do this scene, but I think we can keep my dress on,’” she said. “He was like, ‘OK!’ He didn’t even hesitate. And he shot a beautiful scene and got exactly what he wanted.” Another person wrote, “While her words are diplomatic, I find this comment to be a [rightful] indictment of Sam Levinson and the show. I watched the first season and then stopped specifically because the whole thing felt so exploitative. It's also just a bummer but the way the girls on the show were portrayed was really upsetting to me.” One more user added, “Imagine all actors had the option to skip filming sex scenes knowing that it wouldn’t hurt their career path. I think we’d see a reduction in like 95% of sex scenes in film/tv, not even exaggerating. Good on Alexa for advocating for herself. She’s very brave and is paving the way for others as well.”
