Kristi Noem’s Puppy Post Gets Chewed Up Online

Former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem received a ruff reception online Tuesday after an attempted clapback at a Democratic senator saw critics digging up a controversial moment from her past. Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) had shared a photo on X of herself cuddling a puppy with the caption: “Don’t worry buddy, Kristi Noem isn’t around anymore.” It was a clear nod to Noem’s admission in her book “No Going Back” that she shot dead her 14-month-old wirehaired pointer named Cricket because of his bad behavior. Noem, now special envoy for the Shield of the Americas, hit back bizarrely. See the post here. “Oh but I am…And I love puppies,” she wrote on X, adding a heart emoji. She then added: “You…? …not so much.” The response quickly backfired, with critics unleashing a howl of reminders: You “love” them? As target practice? One could say you love them to death. Yeah, you just love them to death, don't you? You love them to death. Right Kristi? Love them to death? Cricket remembers.
