“Big Tupperware wants you to believe food needs to be stored horizontally, but don’t let that disillusion the proletarian dream of standardized airtight food containers.”

"Lots of people are talking about blackout shades. Get the 'Top Down Bottom Up Shades' (in any color and blackout style you want.) They allow you to lower either the top or the bottom half of the window. Great if you want to see the sky but not people. This is a game changer."

"I'm gonna tack onto this one! Safety razors take some getting used to, and they require a different technique than other razors. You don't really apply pressure, you let the weight of the razor do the work."

"Those tweezers are no joke. I asked for them for Christmas, and I never tweezed my eyebrows so fast. I was shocked at how good they were."

"Perfect temperature for your tea all day long. I love mine and re-steep my loose leaf tea throughout the day."

"Same here, I bought some new-old-stock French quality sheets that were slightly stained from lying on a shelf for years (got the stains out right away, no problem). They were very affordable, but man, these were made to last you 50 years, and it shows. The weight after washing is unlike anything I've owned, and you definitely need to break them in. The reputation of linen sheets is that it takes a year or so (!), but they do get softer. Ironing helps, too. I bought them on a Dutch website for secondhand stuff called 'Marktplaats' (I think eBay owns the website now)."

"I bit the bullet and got a decently expensive latex body pillow from Yana Sleep ($250 with the nicer cover to keep myself from overheating). It's meant for pregnancy, but I've got Back Syndrome and am trying to put off surgery as long as possible. The cheaper pregnancy pillows with foam fill lose their shape so quickly because they're designed for only a few months during a single pregnancy and provide minimal support. This hefty MF'er is still going strong and just as supportive as when I bought it. My sleep quality immediately improved because my back and nerve pain weren’t waking me up throughout the night.

Additional back savers that have allowed me to sit long enough to work include the sciatica and lumbar support pillow from Cushion Lab. They are both about $60 each on sale, and god have they reduced the aches and numbness I get in my legs during my 9-5. Truly, investing in keeping your back as healthy as possible is the best thing you can do (IMHO)."
