Seth Meyers Spots Trump's Most 'Desperate' Plan Yet To Fix Sinking Poll Numbers

“Late Night” host Seth Meyers crushed President Donald Trump’s latest attempt to gain control of the Strait of Hormuz as the ongoing war with Iran has no end in sight and gas prices continue to soar. “Trump’s desperate for a way out of this mess,” Meyers said. “Which is why he keeps announcing new fake solutions to the crisis he started that don’t make sense and catch everyone off guard.” Meyers was referring to Trump’s announcement of a plan to guide ships through the Strait of Hormuz. This announcement came despite the administration saying last week that hostilities with Iran had been “terminated.” Trump was asked by reporters outside Air Force One on Saturday how hostilities could be “terminated” if the United States was still enforcing a military blockade. Trump then characterized it as a “very friendly blockade.” “A friendly blockade?” Meyers questioned. “Is there such a thing?” On Monday, there wasn’t anything friendly about the current situation, as both Iran and the U.S. exchanged fire in the Strait of Hormuz. In a new Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll released on Monday, 62% of Americans said they disapproved of the job Trump is doing as president.
