She concluded her speech by turning to face Angelina and saying, “I think back to a quote I saw years ago that said, ‘I am a strong woman because a strong woman raised me.’ Thank you, Mom.”

Someone else attributed this to something apparently called “attunement,” which is about how we “learn our mannerisms and facial posture from our caregivers,” meaning that “adopted children can often end up looking a little like their parents.”
