A signed guitar played by Oasis star Noel Gallagher on smash-hits Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova sold at auction in New York for $96,000 (£71,200). The Epiphone EJ-200 was played by Gallagher whilst the Manchester band recorded their second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory. The 1995 album, which has sold more than 22 million copies, also included songs Don't Look Back in Anger and Some Might Say. The guitar had been estimated to sell for $80,000 (£59,500) when it went under the hammer at Sotheby's. Meanwhile, a handwritten lyric sheet for Don't Look Back in Anger was sold for $38,400 (£28,513).
