A Kentucky man who won a $167.3 million Powerball jackpot in April 2025 is facing more charges after he was arrested for the fourth time since his win, according to court records. James Farthing, 51, of Georgetown, was charged with possession of marijuana and burglary. His $10,000 cash bond was posted March 29. According to an arrest citation, Farthing “unlawfully entered” a residence in the 3300 block of Kenesaw Drive in Lexington around 7:16 p.m. March 28. A resident of the home said she saw Farthing on her security camera before hearing a “loud noise that sounded as if the door had been busted open.” The resident told police she was missing $12,000 in cash. Farthing then left the area, and police located him and his vehicle in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Red Mile Road. The citation said police found a burnt marijuana blunt in an ashtray and conducted a search of the vehicle, which revealed additional marijuana and blunts. The new charges come as Farthing has two additional open cases in Kentucky. He’s facing charges in Scott County related to intimidating a participant in a legal process. He was also charged with wanton endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance in connection to a November 2025 hit-and-run collision in Fayette County. Farthing won the Powerball jackpot that was announced on April 27 on a ticket sold at Clark’s Pump N Shop in Georgetown. He was arrested in Pinellas County, Florida, days later after allegedly kicking a deputy in the face. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and obstruction or resisting arrest in February 2026, according to Pinellas County court records.
