Someone who holds onto their money like it's going out of style does a LOT of product research and won't click *Add to Cart* on a whim. So we should listen to them. Below, I rounded up products that self-identified "frugal" reviewers liked so much, they went back to write a review about them! So maybe they're worth your try. Promising review: "I heard so much about this stuff, but I wasn't eager to buy. What can it do that Comet from the dollar store can't do? Well, you would be surprised! It takes less effort to remove a stain, including hair dye! It is good for everything you can think of and plan on using it on, and you won't be disappointed! I am frugal and don't like spending money on cleaning products, but this was amazing, and a little dab will do ya!!!" —Anonymous Promising review: "Frugal former lash artist. As someone who did lashes for seven years, I consider this my go-to mascara. It gives you that long, thick look, while not being clumpy, and at a great price. The cute tube helps too." —Piaget Get it from Amazon for $4.97+ (available in four colors). See the ChomChom roller in action on TikTok! Promising review: "Best lint roller ever. Love how easy it is to use. I am very frugal and cheap. Normally, I wouldn’t spend that much on a lint roller, but I’m glad I did. We have three cats and three dogs. I use it on my comforter after they lie on it and it gets all the off." —Mo85 Promising review: "I ordered them for a teenage boy, and he had some acne on his forehead, and blackheads on his nose. The acne cleared up almost immediately, and the blackheads are stubborn anyway, but I have never had a product that 1) seems to be preventing more, 2) the existing ones are disappearing, and overall? I love these. I have used them on my own skin, and they're incredibly refreshing. I don't have acne so much anymore. But I do have enlarged pores on my nose, and I've noticed a change. Definitely going to check out more from MediCube. If you're (like me) somewhat skeptical, an avid review reader, and frugal? These are a worthwhile investment for your skin and self-esteem." —Chani Dee Get a pack of 70 from Amazon for $17.90 (available in six other styles). It comes with two stands/caps and six adapters to fit any size bottle. Just make sure it's a bottle that can actually be squeezed, since it won't work with totally solid bottles. Promising review: "I am frugal and like to get the last drop out of lotion bottles. The stuff is too expensive just to throw away. This works perfectly for me for my needs." —k.vernon Get a pack of two stands and six adapters from Amazon for $15.99. Promising review: "Excellent for low-maintenance girlies. My hairdresser asked what I’ve been using since my hair feels stronger and softer. I am frugal, so I used half of the recommended 'dose', but with different uses of the actual recommended dose, I can definitely tell a difference, and it’s a positive change!! Incredible product!!" —Lauren Promising review: "It seems like the most effective solution, in bulk. Like probably everyone, I find scrubbing the toilet is not the most enjoyable job. Anything that minimizes that is an improvement to me. The price per unit in bulk like this was the lowest cost option I found. Also, probably like everyone else, I think being frugal is important these days. They seem to do what I'd expect and want, keep the toilet cleaner longer with less scrubbing." —Michael F Promising review: "I think this might be my new holy grail moisturizer. Before then, I used one of those Urea/AHA-based exfoliating lotions that, despite moisturizing capabilities, didn't hold up in a dry home. Enters Eos, after browsing a Reddit beauty post. Why it's my HG: Its non-greasy consistency, absorbs fast, and it leaves you soft and moisturized for hours. It's not tacky, goopy, and gross, which is a sensory ick to me. The scent is not in-your-face strong or cloying, but like buttery vanilla frosting, and it's a lasting scent for something that light. It's still on my nightgown, and I'm sure if I had a guy, he'd probably want to smell my skin every time. Lastly, it's good quality for the price point, but I'm a little biased since I loved their lip balms in the little orb, I figured it couldn't hurt. It was a toss-up between this and Nivea, but they were about $11 vs $8 and some change for Eos 16 ounces. I'm indulgent, but frugal, so this won out in the end." —candice warren These fit K-Duo, K-Classic, K-Elite, K-Select, and K-Cafe Brewers. Promising review: "Great price. Seal is great. So great it is difficult to find the opening every time. It would make it easier if it were marked. Easy to clean. Very happy frugal coffee drinker. And I'm not making extra trash. Reusable!" —Annette Learn more about different kinds of eye drops and what they can do at Cleveland Clinic. Note that eye drops can potentially mask symptoms of eye conditions, so you should talk to your eye doctor about what's right for you. And according to Mayo Clinic, you should avoid redness-reducing drops if you're looking for dry eye relief. Promising review: "I am frugal and don't normally throw out good products to use a new product exclusively, but I did with Lumify. I received a free sample of Lumify with a CVS.com order I placed. I have allergies and have tried every eye drop on the market, and have just accepted that red eyes are just something I have to live with. Boy, this really is a miracle product!! I use it in the a.m. and don't find a need for a second dose. The drops are to last eight hours, but I find one dose is just fine for me. The drops cost more than what I normally pay, but one drop does the trick, and with other brands, I think I was using more product to get a lesser result." —EW Promising review: " I love it. It catches all the dye and helps keep your clothes the same as before you washed them. If you want to be extra frugal, you can use half a sheet, and it works just as well. They are a regular part of my laundry routine." —Patti Kinsey Promising reviews: "Why buy name brand and get two when you can be frugal and smart because these work just as well. I recommended them to my local school since they are so great!" —Jamie "I own a cleaning business and have spent a small fortune on the name brand. I clean everything from condo rentals to long-term lease/residential rentals and I have had to clean unimaginable NASTY, I mean 'pics, or it didn't happen' kind of nasty, and these cut right through it. These work just as well as the name brand, if not better, and they seem to last a little longer!" —Keisha Marie Get a pack of 20 from Amazon for $12.56. The cellulose-and-cotton cloths are soft when wet and slightly abrasive when dry so you can even use them to scrub down particularly stuck-on messes. Promising review: "These dish towels are my new favorites! They’re like a perfect combination of sponge and dishcloth, only way better than either of those. They’re incredibly absorbent, can be washed over and over again, and come in so many colors. They say they last as long as a bazillion rolls of paper towels (okay, maybe not that much), but I like mine so much, I wouldn’t think of using them for anything nasty, like I use paper towels for. I like to cut mine in half. I prefer the size, and I’m frugal. 😊 I have nothing negative to say. They’re perfect!" —Farm Girl Get a pack of 10 from Amazon for $16.95+ (available in 10 colors). Promising review: "I used to buy Affresh for our washing machine cleaner, but during these tough times when everything has gone up in price, we needed to be more frugal and find other ways to save money. I saw this item as an option and decided to try it. It costs less than Affresh, and it does the same thing and gives the same results. The main thing is it cleans our washing machin,e and we’re fine with that. If you want to save some money, then this is your product. It cleans your washing machine just like Affresh." —Jojo Promising review: "Like it enough to buy it again as a frugal individual :D. To be blunt, I like it, don't really know if it does anything for me. I don't care. It feels nice and hydrates well since I never notice if my eyes are ever dry. My dark circles come from diet and allergies, so to each their own. I like the brand too. Would recommend." —Anon "This eye cream makes my eyes so soft; it has this luxurious feel that is better than any high-end product I have tried and for the cost? This stuff is unbelievable. I tried Ogee and all sorts of products that people swear by, but this one keeps my eyes hydrated and soft all night and lasts until the next day. It also isn’t greasy, which I love. Since it has retinal, I only put it on at night and use a vitamin C serum in the morning. I love this product! You can feel and see a difference after one use." —AJ Get it from Amazon for $16.99 (also available as a two-pack). Promising review: "Woke up late to write this. I am quite a frugal person, so I hadn't changed my pillows in over a decade. I bought this pack, and now every night I sleep extremely extremely well, to the point of actually oversleeping (I don't sleep in, I feel like I waste the day!) . If you are struggling with sleep, please get these. It has changed my whole night and I dream more too!" —S.S Get them from Amazon for $79.99+ (available in three sizes) Promising review: "I'm not sure why, but ever since I bought the new mattress cover a couple of years ago, the sheets will NOT stay on the corners of the bed overnight. It was driving me batty! I waited until the day I washed sheets and put these on as I made up the bed with fresh sheets. It was heavenly!!! The sheets stayed put ALL night long, all WEEK long!! It was incredible!! I'd forgotten how nice it is to have flat sheets under me! These are more expensive than some things I considered. And I'm very frugal, so this is big for me. But with a king-size bed and two active sleepers, I thought I'd better go for the strong clips to start with. I haven't regretted it for a minute!!" —M. Wise-Mui Get them from Amazon for $13.99 (available in five colors/styles). Dossier is a small business that specializes in alternative, affordable perfumes — check out the rest of their options on their Amazon storefront! Promising review: "I used to wear Black Opium but stopped buying it due to its price tag after losing my job when Covid hit. I'm in a good place with a new career, but have become more frugal now and couldn't justify hundreds on a scent. I decided to try this after seeing many ads and I'm so glad I did. Is it an exact replica? No, but it's a fantastic alt with a more spicy twist. I think I may like it more. I can smell all of the notes listed on the bottle, and it's so complex and nice. The initial hit of the pepper, licorice, then the warmth of the amber and vanilla, and lingering subtle floral notes. It's grown, classy, mysterious. Thrilled with my purchase." —Megan Bowden Get it from Amazon for $29+ (available in two sizes). Promising reviews: "I bought them at the beginning of summer because I didn’t want to pay the price on Birkenstocks. I am a frugal mom always looking for the best deals. These were decently priced so that if they weren’t as comfortable as I had hoped, it wouldn’t be a huge loss. It turns out they were way more comfortable than Birkenstocks, too. I have a very flat foot, and though I love the style, Birkenstocks are not always the most comfortable for me. These are actually very comfortable, and I wear them all the time. I would say I have worn them at least 3–4 times a week from May–August and they still look and feel great!" —Justina Markwith Get them from Amazon for $34.99 (available in sizes 5–12, including wide sizes, and 22 styles). Food Huggers is a woman-owned small biz that focuses on everyday sustainable solutions to cut down on single-use plastic. Promising review: "This is my second set. It really helps for the things that I have no lid to or that I just like to have quick access. I also use them on halved citrus fruits or cucumbers that I've cut up. Make sure that you clean and dry them well so mold doesn't collect. I always check to see if they're on sale before I purchase them, just because I'm fairly frugal. But it has cut down on buying plastic wrap, so it works out as far as value. I haven't noticed any cracking or staining. I would love to see some even larger ones for smaller mixing bowls." —Elle Cee Promising review: "So I am moving into a new (to me) house and was painting and fixing small repairs and thought, 'I'll hire the task of cleaning grout out.' I get a quote, $994! Is that normal? I don't know. I'm way too frugal for all that. I spent $21 per bottle on two bottles of this stuff. I brought some grout sealer at approximately the same cost. Bought some heavy-duty scrub brushes and knee pads and paid my two older kids $50 each to complete the task. I then paid less than $200 for beautiful grout. The kids were happy to make the money; it's not child labor, stop judging me.Oh, did I mention it works wonderfully? We essentially soaked the grout and scrubbed. Our grout was very dirty, so it needed extra love." —Angeladm Get it from Amazon for $19.98+ (available in six sizes and also in multipacks). Promising review: "This shampoo is wonderful! It breaks up liquid foundation caked into my brushes with ease, and old eye shadow is nothing at all. The scent is light and pleasant. I can't wait to try this on all my brushes I've been too lazy to clean and too frugal to throw out." —Dublin Anondson Get it from Amazon for $5.55+ (available in two sizes). Includes a wand, storage caddy, and six disinfecting wand head refills. Promising review: "I am a very frugal person, and I felt this was worth trying. I am now going to order a large amount of refills. Easy to use and gets the whole toilet clean without having to keep a nasty regular toilet bowl brush." —Genie Kern My colleague Heather Braga says: "The number one item I simply could not live without is the Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced. Literally I would happily spend my last penny on this product because it has made that much of a difference in my life. It’s essentially a Keurig for baby bottles. It has the capability of mixing formula with the proper amount of water and dispensing it at the *perfect* temperature for baby. It has a button on it so I can easily choose how many ounces I want for my son’s bottle, depending on how recently he’s eaten sometimes we needed only need 2 ounces instead of 4 ounces, etc. The bottle settings stayedin place so when my baby was screaming (he used to get very hangry!) I just had to place a bottle under the dispenser and hit the “start” button. It was so easy I was literally able to do it with one hand while holding him. The spout has to be cleaned every four bottles, which I used to do with hot water and a paper towel, and the water needed to be refilled once a day (like a Keurig). Other than that, all I had to do was ensure the formula container is filled. My husband set it up like a baby bar cart in the nursery so we didn't have to stumble down our stairs to the kitchen while bleary-eyed and half asleep in the middle of the night. It really is a godsend and I don’t know what I would have done without it!" Promising review: "This is 100% worth the investment. After trying to tough out the 10-20-minute warming time with our old bottle warmer, while the baby screamed for a bottle for a few months, we caved and got the Brezza. I’m generally a frugal person, I thrift most of my baby's clothes, toys, and furniture. I don’t own fancy things or name brands. With that said, I do not have any regrets about getting the Brezza. Instant, warm bottles that are 100% mixed. You can make bottles 2-10 oz, which is amazing when my baby is cluster feeding, I can adjust on demand the exact amount of ounces I think he needs. If you're hesitating, GET IT. You will not regret it!!!" —Liz P. Promising review: "Every year I have had to fight horrific dry skin, cracks, and chapped hands despite the fact that I use lotion and deep moisturizer every night. I went on a quest to find yet another magic lotion and stumbled across Gloves in a Bottle. I was extremely skeptical, though, especially for the price. I hated to do it because I'm such a frugal person who doesn't like paying for shipping or things that are way more per ounce, but I ordered my 'free' sample directly from them, paying the $2 shipping fee for a very small amount of lotion. Luckily, because only a tiny amount is needed, the sample stretched further than I ever would've imagined. The biggest surprise, though, was that my hands cleared up to just a bit of dry skin within two days! We had a warm spell, so I thought it could be a coincidence. I decided to go ahead and place my order for it. One other bonus I almost forgot is that I had a red spot on my wrist that the doctor wasn't sure what it was. It was getting bigger and wouldn't go away with all the medicated stuff. I used this on it too since so close to my hands. It's finally gone!" —Sctirvn687 Promising review: "As a long-haired 'sheddy' person, I have always used a hair catcher in the bathtub. I used to use the kind that looks kind of like a mesh hat that sits above the drain. They always became gross and unsightly. I like the Tubshroom because you don't see the hair floating in shampoo and soap scum after a shower, and it is very easy to clean. I thought long and hard about this purchase (I'm frugal), but I am very happy I bought it. :)" —jenjen Get it from Amazon for $12.95+ (available in six colors). These come with a wireless charging case that provides up to 14 hours of charge (with the earbuds able to play for four-plus hours with each full charge). Promising review: "Super impressed! These fit (with the small ear caps provided) and feel way better than Apple AirPods. Plus they’re a fraction of the cost which is a huge bonus for my frugal a$$! I’m glad I decided to go with these!" —Sam Get it from Amazon $18.87+ (available in five colors).
