White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt raised eyebrows on Wednesday with her latest claim about Donald Trump. During a press briefing, Leavitt was asked to clarify which parts of the Trump administrationβs reported 15-point ceasefire plan, that it has offered to Iran, she believes are inaccurate. βLook, if youβve heard it from the president of the United States, obviously itβs true,β Leavitt replied, arguing the goals of the White Houseβs so-called Operation Eric Fury β which officials have repeatedly sidestepped questions about β had already been outlined βfrom this podiumβ and by the Pentagon. Leavitt: "If you heard it from the president, obviously it's true" pic.twitter.com/MSzcGAabRI The βobviously itβs trueβ remark drew a strong reaction online. Many critics responded on social media using laughing emojis, while others pointed to past fact-checking of the president, including a Washington Post analysis that found Trump made more than 30,000 false or misleading claims during his first term.
