White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt raised eyebrows on Wednesday with her latest claim about Donald Trump.

During a press briefing, Leavitt was asked to clarify which parts of the Trump administration’s reported 15-point ceasefire plan, that it has offered to Iran, she believes are inaccurate.

β€œLook, if you’ve heard it from the president of the United States, obviously it’s true,” Leavitt replied, arguing the goals of the White House’s so-called Operation Eric Fury β€” which officials have repeatedly sidestepped questions about β€” had already been outlined β€œfrom this podium” and by the Pentagon.

The β€œobviously it’s true” remark drew a strong reaction online.

Many critics responded on social media using laughing emojis, while others pointed to past fact-checking of the president, including a Washington Post analysis that found Trump made more than 30,000 false or misleading claims during his first term.
