Jeff Webb, founder of Varsity Spirit and a leading figure in modern cheerleading, died at 76 after a reported pickleball fall, a development significant to the cheerleading community. News of Jeff Webb’s death was reported by Cheer Daily on March 20 after he sustained a severe head injury and was hospitalized. The Varsity Spirit founder was later removed from life support, according to the report. Varsity Spirit shared an Instagram tribute on March 19. Webb, a mentor to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, was also honored by the organization. After Kirk was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, Webb reflected on his legacy. Webb is survived by his wife, two children, siblings, and two grandchildren.
