Perhaps it's time to adopt a MacKenzie-Childs teakettle...or just fix that squeaky bathroom door hinge. The nice thing about buying something for your home is that you probably get to see it every day. You can admire that glitzy candle warmer lamp on your end table when it catches your eye (and the wafting smell catches your nose) or you can feel an oh-so-cozy high-pile rug underfoot when your feet hit the ground in the morning. We compiled some great stuff you can look at and some problem-solvers with benefits you can reap long after use. Once you realize that a WD-40 pen is a thing, squeaky spots in your home won't stand a chance! Hope's is a small business based in Missouri that makes cleaning supplies. My colleague Maitland Quitmeyer has this and LOVES it: "I bought this for my white porcelain kitchen sink and I've since texted five people about it, which is really a lot for such a boring grown-up product. It cleans beautifully, but the *best* thing about it is its ability to repel stains after cleaning. You know that thing when you rinse out your coffee cup and the coffee water just lingers in your sink and you have to purposefully rinse it out for two minutes? You don't have to do that — the coffee can't stick to the sink and just goes RIGHT down the drain. Time saved, sink clean — this is really a Virgo dream product right here." Promising review: "I have tried numerous products for my stainless steel sink and appliances. My sink was looking terrible; nothing I used seemed to work. Then I tried this product and WOW, am I impressed. My sink looks like new. My appliances also look great. It's very easy to use and does an excellent job." —Book Worm Get it from Amazon for $9.95+ (available in two sizes). ban.do is a small biz specializing in all sorts of whimsical stuff. Promising review: "Super cute planter! Came packaged and secured really well, and was exactly what I was looking for." —Alexis Promising review: "Cleaned three items in less than five minutes. Vacuum brush head and two hair brushes that have three girls' long hair. I can’t wait to get the whole vacuum and rug cleaner bristles cleaned. I had to write this review after testing it out. Design is strong, sturdy, and handles great. Highly recommended." —Rob Promising review: "Love these little dogs! I don't use them as S&P shakers but as office decor under my monitor on my desk. I just love looking at them! So cute!" —Bobbi@theBeach Get them from Amazon for $19.99+ (also available in pink). Get a four-pack from Anthropologie for $14 (available in four designs). Promising review: "So fun and easy to use! I loved these for a shower that I threw using a mixture of flowers and fruits. They were easy to fill and froze overnight. They worked perfectly for the duration of the shower and added the perfect touch!" —Megan Check out a TikTok of the foaming pink drain cleaner in action. Promising review: "Wow! I don't think I've ever been more excited to use a cleaning product before. Who knew you could get so much satisfaction from a drain cleaner. I could probably make an ASMR video and post it, as it is that satisfying! Even though I had to angle this over my sink drain, to avoid the low faucet, it worked perfectly. The foam went down the drain and up through the overflow, bringing lots of black, yucky gunk with it. I have used lots of drain cleaners before, but not one that actually came up through the overflow. I'd never even considered what stuff was in there. It did a great job of cleaning everything out and it left the sink smelling fresh and clean as well." —Amazon Customer Promising review: "I have used this exact paper in both of our homes and love it more each day! It’s stunning! It was easy to hang, forgivable if you need to move it or remove a bubble, and it looks flawless. I can’t say enough about this product!" —Penny Olson Langland Get it from Amazon for $13.99+/roll (available in three designs and five rolls sizes). There are 48 total incense droplets. Promising review: "This burner is perfect. Elegant and warm. It has a soothing, smooth design and provides a pleasant aesthetic. It was packaged very well with custom cut closed cell foam which indicates care from the vendor. Good value, wonderful design, large enough to place sticks or cones but small enough for tiny spaces. I will be buying more." —Tordenavaer Ravenshield Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in six styles) Each kit should produce 1–1.5 pounds of fresh mushrooms and once you harvest them, you can spray and reuse the kit again, though each harvest after will be smaller. I aspire to be someone who grows a bunch of indoor herbs, but about as far as I get is regrowing scallions (which make everything taste better and easily freeze!) on my windowsill in a glass of water. I've been wanting to try one of these kits for a while and waited until I knew I'd be home for a spell in case it required babysitting. It doesn't! This is the growth on my own kit after spraying it for about a week. It's funny because you saw basically nothing happening for a few days, and then it just started POPPING out of the kit. I'm not ready to forage for mushrooms in the wild (though my Aunt Lynn loves doing that!), but I'm cool with harvesting them from my kitchen. Promising review: "This is BEAUTIFUL! I have it hanging in the center window in my living room, where the sun hits the first half of the day. When the sun hits it, the crystals create rainbows all throughout the room. It’s a great size, and the quality is great as well! Not very heavy but feels heavy enough to know that it’s not cheaply made." —Alissa Butler Promising review: "My sister is a librarian, and I just thought this would be such a cute flower vase for her house. She loved it." —dawn gadless Get it from Amazon for $12.99 (available in four designs). Promising review: "Obsessed! Perfect for a gallery wall! Promising review: "Wow! This thing is magic. I love my Victorian cast-iron pan, but it was starting to look a little down in the dumps. I had seasoned it correctly when I first got it, but it was starting to accumulate buildup. I stumbled across this chainmail scrubber, ordered it, and man, am I happy. Super easy, and it DID NOT interfere with my seasoning. Highly recommend." —Placeholder Get it from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in three sizes). They smell amazing as well. I am beyond happy with this purchase. I do wish that the rose quartz gemstone was a little bit bigger (it was about the size of my pinky nail), however, that does not really take away the quality of the soap. The turquoise gemstone was a nice size, though. Overall very happy and can't wait to order some of the other options!" —Brandi Walsh Get them for $19.95+ (available in four scent combos and a larger set option that includes bath bombs). I've used a couple of different scents of these and am actually working my way through a lovely gardenia version. I truly use it for everything in my home — it's become my go-to cleaning product. I use it as a laundry sanitizer to eliminate odors, in my floor mopping bucket, and for cleaning bathrooms, sinks, and my stove. I can't imagine my cleaning routine without it." —Lior mealem Promising review: "So I actually tested these bags because I’m a skeptic by nature. I took three organic bananas:• one in a Debbie Meyer bag• one in a 24/7 Fresh Pack• and one left completely unbaggedAfter 6 days, the difference was obvious:• The unbagged banana was brown and soft.• The Debbie Meyer one was slightly better but still spotty and mushy.• The 24/7 Fresh Pack banana looked the best — firm, yellow, and way fresher.I’ve repeated this with berries, greens, potatoes, avocados… same story every time. These bags are simply better quality and actually WORK. Highly recommend if you’re tired of throwing money away on spoiled produce. Plus, they are much sturdier than any other bags I tried and reusable." —Anastasia Talan Psst, if you watch Summer House, you likely saw Carl using his classic MacKenzie-Childs checkered tea kettle to water plants — which is also a clever use! Promising review: "This is a high-quality, well-constructed, last-a-lifetime, tea kettle. I really wanted something joyful to look at each morning as I stumble bleary-eyed into the kitchen. This is a delight to walk by at any time of the day! Because it is heavier, it takes a minute longer to heat up, but it retains the heat longer if I need a refill. This is definitely the most expensive tea kettle I’ve ever bought, but for the joy it brings me whenever I look at it, and its sturdy construction, this will literally last me the rest of my life.
