A Detroit man is accused of kidnapping a 14-year-old girl and keeping her at his home, where authorities said he sexually assaulted her over the span of a week, according to investigators. The incidents of sexual assault occurred at Ronnell Tremayne Agee’s residence between March 3 and March 10, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said in a Tuesday, March 24, news release. “You see these stories in the media and momentarily think thankfully this doesn’t happen here,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a statement. “Then, reality smacks you in the face. I am so very saddened by what happened to our young survivor in this case. And no doubt about it — she is a survivor.” Now, Agee, 37, is facing four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of kidnapping, four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of delivery of a controlled substance - marijuana to a minor, and one count of harboring a runaway, according to prosecutors. Minnesota Man Charged with Kidnapping, Sexually Assaulting Woman Over Course of 5 Days Agee’s defense attorney did not immediately return Us Weekly’s request for comment on March 24. The girl Agee is accused of kidnapping was confined to his home while all of his windows were "boarded up," Lisa Coyle, of the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, told WJBK. "She couldn’t leave because the windows were boarded up and there were no doorknobs on the door," Coyle told the TV station. "The defendant finally let her leave when he saw that she was posted as a missing person on social media." Agee, who allegedly kept knives next to his bed, is accused of threatening to hurt the girl’s family so she would not speak out about the assault, WJBK reported. Authorities did not specify exactly when the girl was able to leave Agee’s home. Before Raping Teen Girl, Man Allegedly Sent Her Threatening Photos of Gun and Her Grandparents’ Home Agee appeared in court on Thursday, March 19, for an arraignment, according to court records viewed by Us. A docket entry says that during the arraignment, Agee “stood mute” and a “plea of not guilty” was entered on his behalf. He is being held without bond, records show. Agee is due to return to court for a probable cause conference set for March 26, and then a preliminary examination which is scheduled for April 2, according to the prosecutor’s office.
