Past tweets from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard are coming back to haunt her amid the U.S.’s ongoing war in Iran.

While she was still gunning for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, Gabbard was fervently against any U.S. military action in Iran.

“Trump promised to get the US out of ‘stupid wars,’” Gabbard wrote on Twitter in 2019. “But now he and John Bolton are on the brink of launching us into a very stupid and costly war with Iran. Join me in sending a strong message to President Trump: The US must NOT go to war with Iran. #TULSI2020.”

Gabbard posted the tweet alongside a campaign video featuring President Donald Trump opposing the U.S. launching foreign wars.

“The president is listening to his national security adviser, John Bolton, and other war hawks in his administration, who have championed the war with Iraq in the past, and have been pushing for a war with Iran for years,” Gabbard said in the video.

Users on X were quick to call out Gabbard’s flip-flop on Tuesday after MeidasTouch editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski reposted it.

The update is that Tulsi realized that being the Queen of Warmongers pays well and is fun, to boot.I mean, in what other job do you get to murder babies, laugh about it, and get paid?Did Tulsi personally sign off on bombing that girls' school in Tehran?

aren't you part of his cabinet? WTF are you doing?

Hey Tulsi, why are you so quiet now?? Busy selling out the American people? Do you feel this statement you said in 2019 now doesn’t apply? Keep being silent, we will celebrate when you and the rest of the killers of America as we know, go down

And how do you feel about this today coward? If you’re planning on running in 2028 you blew it with your non-statement today.

Since the launch of the war, Gabbard had been relatively silent on the matter. But, after the director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, resigned due to his opposition to Trump’s decision to attack Iran, she posted:

Donald Trump was overwhelmingly elected by the American people to be our President and Commander in Chief. As our Commander in Chief, he is responsible for determining what is and is not an imminent threat, and whether or not to take action he deems necessary to protect the…

Filipkowski responded to Gabbard as well:

In other words, you stand for nothing.

Gabbard’s office did not respond to a request for comment on the matter.
