Michael B. Jordan was certainly not done winning after his heartfelt Oscars speech Sunday night. Moments after accepting the award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the Smokestack Twins in “Sinners,” Jordan could be seen sharing a celebratory embrace with Leonardo DiCaprio, who was nominated in the same category for his performance in “One Battle After Another.” It didn’t take long for DiCaprio’s “One Battle After Another” co-star, Benicio del Toro, to get in on the action as well. A Best Supporting Actor nominee, del Toro acknowledged Jordan’s win with a brotherly kiss on the fellow actor’s hand. Michael B. From winning a category y’all were both up for,” one person wrote on X. “I can’t.” Added another: “A powerful moment, respect from legends makes the win even more meaningful.” Jordan’s victory made him the sixth Black man to win in the Best Actor category, following Sidney Poitier in 1964, Denzel Washington in 2002, Jamie Foxx in 2005, Forest Whitaker in 2007 and Will Smith in 2022. Halle Berry remains the only Black woman to win in the Best Actress category for “Monster’s Ball” in 2002. Not long after Jordan’s win, DiCaprio and del Toro would get their own moment in the spotlight when “One Battle After Another” won for Best Picture. Paul Thomas Anderson’s starry thriller about a group of ex-revolutionaries was the night’s big winner and nabbed a total of six Oscars, including Best Director for Anderson and Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn. Of course, Jordan wasn’t done celebrating at the end of the ceremony. Relatably, he also swung by In-N-Out Burger ― golden statuette in hand ― for a bite, garnering applause and cheers from the restaurant’s staff and fellow patrons.
