"Goonies" actor Jeff Cohen said, "It was a forced retirement. I didn't give up acting. Acting gave me up."

As a staff writer at BuzzFeed, I write about all things celeb and pop culture.

Warning: This post mentions sexual assault, drug misuse, and depression.

At no point did he actually consider himself "retired" from acting, but shifting his focus was important for his family. He said, "It wasn't a formal decision. It began in an already busy year, where I declined a film that was being shot out of town as the school year was beginning. But I was fortunate to be able to continue to make a living writing and doing voice work in Manhattan."

Philip Berk told GQ, "Mr. Fraser's version is a total fabrication."

Brendan ran outside. He ran past a police officer, but he felt unable to tell anyone except his then-wife, Afton Smith. Later, he thought about speaking out, but he "didn't want to contend with how that made [him] feel, or it becoming part of [his] narrative." His representatives got a written apology from Berk, who told GQ, "My apology admitted no wrongdoing, the usual 'If I've done anything that upset Mr. Fraser, it was not intended, and I apologize.'"

Berk told GQ, "His career declined through no fault of ours."

Bobby reportedly said, "I have found that memories are not very useful. I was carried on a silver platter and then dumped into the garbage can."

He continued, "I used college as an excuse. I'm just going to wait until they are getting Life of Pi ready, and as soon as the movie is underway, if I get the part, I'll just drop out of school again. The project kept getting delayed. Three months turned into a year, turned into four years. It was actually six years because of that year off. Life of Pi was attached to four different directors over the years, so every time a new director [came aboard], I'd go to the library and get out all the movies they had made and research that director. I worked really, really hard to try to get this part. In the end, they gave it to somebody else."

"It didn't matter whether people thought it was an admirable thing to do – in my soul I thought, 'My kiss is not for sale' – it might have been acting, but it was real for me as it was my first or third kiss, so it was confusing for me. I don't know why it's legal for a child to act unless they can sell oranges or whatever legally too. It's a crazy double standard, and that's super weird for me. Now that the #MeToo movement has come forward, people understand more that it's pretty gross and uncomfortable," she said.

Imran Ansari, Weinstein's attorney, said that his client "categorically denies the allegations made against him by Ormond and he is prepared to vehemently defend himself."

CAA had "compassion" for Julia but denied her claims. Disney and Miramax didn't respond to the BBC's request for comment.

In 2025, CAA issued a new court filing with "new evidence" that allegedly contradicted her claims. The agency alleged she was already aware of Weinstein's abuse because he had harassed her before she was signed with them, "undercutting her claim that CAA could have, or should have, warned her about Harvey Weinstein."

During her break, she took several kinds of therapy. She continued, "I had some brutal talks with people who made me realize that I had a mask on. I had no idea that I was just this all the time. I went full-blown Hannah Montana. I dyed my hair dark and just was like, 'I'm hiding you.' People didn't recognize me anymore. And I think that was probably healthy for me at the time... I'm healed. I did the work. I think I could handle most of anything that life threw at me at this point."
