HONOLULU (KHON2) — Another round of job cuts at Hawaiian Airlines. Top 10 issues Hawaiʻi residents say impacts affordability The company notified the state that the cuts affect 48 Hawaii-based, non-union employees whose jobs will end in May or June. A majority of the employees work in the corporate headquarters. They are being given a retention bonus and a severance package. We recently issued Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications (WARN) to 48 Hawai‘i-based, nonunionized employees whose interim roles with our combined company will conclude over the next few months. We appreciate our employees’ valuable contributions to bring our companies together and are supporting everyone through their career transition with both a retention bonus and a severance package, and individualized job placement services. We are also encouraging employees to apply for available jobs at Hawaiian and Alaska, both in Hawai‘i and throughout our system. Hawaiian Airlines said that in the past 18 months, it has hired more than 1,200 employees, largely in union roles.
