These completely invisible nipple covers feel like I'm wearing nothing at all — and they actually stay put.

The “Sticky Cakes” are Cake’s version of adhesive nipple covers that promise to not only maintain a shockingly resilient wear, but look completely imperceptible under clothing. The magic, according to the “boob solutions” brand, is in the medical-grade adhesive that melds into skin, without leaving residue or causing irritation.

It has been 80 degrees here in Los Angeles — prime conditions for testing the power of Cakes’ “stick.” My adhesive undergarments of the past, even when fresh out of the package, typically lost their adhesion after just a couple hours of normal wear. And if I was going to be sweating in the slightest, I could just about forget it completely, as the inside of the bra would turn slick and stop working altogether within minutes.

In terms of appearance, I found these nipple covers to be equally superior when put up against their competitors. I would go so far as to say that they were even flattering, not just concealing. Made with a soft, weightless and pliable non-toxic silicone, the Cakes feature a thinly tapered edge that virtually disappears, even under tight-fitting clothing. And there’s something about the molded shape that somehow made my breasts appear lifted, even if there’s not really any support to speak of in the covers’ design.

When wearing adhesive bras and nipple covers in the past, I was always consciously aware of their presence, whereas these seamless covers felt so comfortable that I completely forgot I was wearing anything at all. One Cakes reviewer, who claims to have nerve damage and can no longer wear bras, found these to be a painless alternative.

Another thoughtful design element of the Sticky Cakes is the adhesion-free center, which means you don’t feel as if your nipple is about to be ripped off when it comes time for removal. Available in either a round or triangle shape, these covers come in three sizes and three different shades to look natural and feel comfortable on everybody.

As is the case with most things, proper care of the Sticky Cakes is key to getting the best adhesion and wear, because they don’t last forever. According to the brand, these are reusable for up to 10 wears, as long as you’re sure to rinse both sides each use, let them air dry and then store them in a cool, dry place with their included protective film placed back over the sticky side. It’s not unlike the care instructions you would find with most nipple covers or adhesive bras.
