Mansfield Drive-in Theatre & Marketplace announces spring opening date

Fans of the Mansfield Drive-in Theatre & Marketplace will only wait a little bit longer for the site to open for the season. Due to field conditions from the snow, the Mansfield flea market will now open on Sunday, March 29 instead of March 22. Movies will begin showings on Thursday, April 2 with i-98 night followed by regular screenings beginning on April 3. Screenings will continue Friday, Saturday and Sunday until the summer, when the drive-in will be open nightly. No movies have been announced yet for the season, according to the Mansfield Drive-in website. Tickets are $13 per person for ages 12 years old and up, $9 for children 4 to 11 and $9 for seniors and military members. In operation since 1954, the Mansfield Drive-in Theatre boasts three screens that show new releases and family friendly films. Touted as "eastern Connecticut's largest flea market," the marketplace runs every Sunday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. until mid-November. In addition to the 15,000-square foot indoor market, there are more than 300 vendors that sell outside. It is $3 per car for buyers attending.
