Head-on crash on Highway 133 leaves one person with serious bodily injuries

HOTCHKISS, Colo. (KREX) β A head-on collision on Highway 133 resulted in one person transported to the hospital with serious bodily injuries on Wednesday morning. Colorado State Patrol stated it responded to the two-vehicle crash that included a Ford Explorer and a Toyota Venza around 8:38 a.m. near Hanson Mesa Road in Delta County. Two people, including the passenger in the Ford who suffered serious injuries in the collision, were transported to a nearby hospital by CareFlight. The driver of the Ford complained of injury, according to CSP, while the driver of the Toyota experienced minor injuries. According to the Hotchkiss Fire District, both lanes of Highway 133 were temporarily closed, and traffic was diverted over Hanson Mesa.
