Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) apparently didn’t get the memo that the United States is at war against Iran. (Watch the video below.)

The MAGA congresswoman dug in her heels on MS NOW Sunday, insisting the U.S.-Israeli attacks were mere “strategic strikes,” claiming that’s what the White House and Secretary of State Marco Rubio told her.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the U.S. operation, and it has so far led to four service member deaths. The fighting intensified on Monday.

President Donald Trump has warned of more casualties to come. The operation has come under criticism for stoking a wider conflict and perhaps entrenching the U.S. in a prolonged fight ― all without Congressional approval.

“The president has called it a war,” “The Weekend Primetime” host Catherine Rampell reminded Luna. (And so has Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.)

“Strategic strikes are not war,” Luna replied.

“Really?” co-host Elise Jordan shot back. “So if someone bombed America, that wouldn’t be a war?”

“Do you see boots on the ground?” Luna asked.

“That makes no sense,” Jordan retorted. “You’re saying there has to be boots on the ground?”

“Iran has killed thousands of Americans and murdered them. So by definition, they’ve already declared war on the United States,” Luna replied.

Jordan pivoted to the unanswered question of whether the conflict has met the standard “to commit our sons and daughters in the military to war” ... “and making that case to America” via Congress for approval.

Co-host Ayman Mohyeldin pushed back at Luna’s comment about how Iran has caused the death of thousands of Americans, prompting more aggressive crosstalk.

He accused the right-wing House member of filibustering instead of attempting a “good faith conversation.”

“You’re coming on every time and keep stating things that are incorrect,” Mohyeldin said.

“The United States launched a war against Iran,” he added. “Iran retaliated against American service members. You can call it whatever you want to call it, but at the end of the day, the Iranians responded and killed three American service members.”
