John Oliver couldn’t resist taking a swipe at his likely “new business daddy” during Sunday’s episode of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight.”

Reacting to Trump-friendly Paramount Skydance’s move closer to acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery — the parent company of HBO — the Trump-critical Oliver quipped: “Yeah, not great news.”

Then he added: “If I may quote anyone who’s ever accidentally sat on their Roku remote, ‘Oh shit, I’m in Paramount now, how the fuck do I get out of this?’”

Oliver returned to the theme later in the episode during a deep dive into the use and misuse of police body cameras.

Arguing there is “no point in the police just stacking up thousands of hours of footage that no one’s ever going to see,” he zinged: “Especially given that we all know that that is Paramount+’s job.”

“Hey. What’re they gonna do?” he added. “Take us over and immediately cancel us? I’m genuinely asking.”
