Promising review: "This stuff works like magic. I’m 33 and I’ve dealt with bad back acne since I was a teenager. After one week of using this, my back is night and day different. Just remember not to wash it off immediately. Let it sit on your skin for about two minutes for it to work. —Filburt_Turtle Get it from Amazon for $7.49+ (available in two sizes and packs of two). For the best skin support, use daily after any treatment serums. Apply 2–3 drops directly on your face, neck, or body. Promising review: "I can't rave enough about this product. Just so you know, I'm actually *electively* taking five minutes to write this review, because I want other people to see how good this is. I've been using this for the past six months on my desperately acne-prone skin. In fact, it has been my constant companion since I started taking Accutane. I did a lot of research and discovered that squalane oil (not squalENE) is not irritating to skin and is one of the only oils that does not feed Malassezia fungus on the skin, which can cause acne. All this time, putting expensive oils and serums on my face, hoping to cure my acne, I was only making it worse! Enter squalane from Timeless. Ridiculously cheap, soothing, instantly absorbing, fragrance-free. It's the same composition as the oil your skin naturally produces, so it moisturizes you from the inside out. I started with the smaller dropper bottle, and after devouring that, I graduated to this larger pump bottle, which I like better. Easier to use on a daily basis, and fill containers for travel. I use this oil morning and night immediately after washing, and *no* other moisturizers, to keep my skin calm, clear, and happy. It's a great priming foundation for makeup and, if you use just the right amount, or give it 10 minutes to skin in, it's completely non-greasy. Try this!" —babybird112 Get it from Amazon for $12.95+ (available in three sizes). Promising review: "I am a 40-some-year-old woman who still gets pimples. I tried a wide swath of pimple patches. These are the best. Like the goldilocks of patches — some were very adherent but took off skin to remove, and some fell off very quickly — these are just right. And they work. They reduce the inflammation and keep gunk from getting in. They also keep you from picking at the zit. My teenage daughter also uses them, and they work for her. I have very fair skin, and she is much darker, and they seem to blend nicely with both skin tones." —K. Dahl Read our Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch review! Get a pack of 36 from Amazon for $12.99 (also available in a 72- and 75-pack). Promising review: "It's gross in the most spectacular way. The amount of disgusting gunk that came out of my face was appalling, and I instantly gagged. However, my nose has never felt so clean and smooth for consecutive days. If you have oily skin, I definitely recommend washing your face first and applying it to the nose before moisturizing the rest of your face. If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Everyone is getting this for Christmas…maybe because it's not cheap." —Justina Promising review: "I have fair, sensitive skin that can sometimes be prone to acne and I love this moisturizer with SPF 50. I've tried other face sunscreens but found that they either ran into my eyes after a few hours (faster in hot weather) or made me breakout. I decided to give this a try after hearing about it in a video review that it was a new formula that was supposed to be somewhat lighter now with the SPF 50. I've found that it absorbs into my skin very easily when applying and the minimal white cast dissipates pretty quickly. It doesn't have any fragrance or weird smell which is a bonus too. I feel like it does a great job at moisturizing my skin and seems to allow for my foundation to go on top of it pretty nicely as well. I can go the entire day, even in hot weather, without it running into my eyes which is fantastic! For everyday wear or moisturizing sun protection — this is a keeper!" —Sydney BTW, it's important not to shake or mix the solution! Promising review: "I've had cystic/hormonal acne since I had my son two years ago. I've been trained as an esthetician and have used many different brands and methods to help stop, or if nothing else simply heal and calm my flare ups. The results from this product literally floored me. I tend to get a new cluster of zits or cysts every two weeks, but since I began treatment with this I have not had one. It's truly ridiculous. I would honestly recommend this to anyone with reoccurring acne and cystic acne to try. You have to moisturize, but for me having really dry and flaky skin for a day or two was entirely worth it, because nothing else has given me the results I have now. My flare ups have stopped and it dried up my smaller cysts. The bottles are small but will last, I'm over 12 applications in and not a dent. I consider this breaking out the big guns, but my hormones wanted to go to war on my face, so this is the artillery to fight back ;) so happy with this, worth every penny. You may only be able to do this once a week, I could handle this three days a week and no more." —A. Bauer Get it from Amazon for $18+ (available in packs with drying patches). Promising review: "I have a small bathroom, and after learning that traces of E. coli can be found on towels after a few minutes, along with having sensitive skin towards laundry detergents, I had to try these. I have used them for two weeks now for my face, and I have noticed a huge difference with not only my acne but also my skin feels so much less dry. I was worried about the waste, but after using it on my face, I’ll use it to wipe down my counter and sink and definitely use fewer paper towels. I will continue to get these and definitely want to try other products from this brand!" —sofia Get a 50-pack from Amazon for $17.95+ (available in four sizes). Promising review: "Used this back when my face broke out crazy after using different products that really damaged my skin barrier, this really helped my skin calm down and also prevented future breakouts." —Nasiba Promising review: "I really, really wish I had a good picture of my back from when I was struggling with breakouts. For the past year, I was having issues with my entire back breaking out, so I looked around for something to help it and found this. I used it every day once a day for a few months, and it cleared my back up completely. I will get a bump every now and then, but I haven't been using it at all anymore since it cleared my back up, and I still haven't had breakouts like I was having. Now, I will say I also changed my eating habits, and that could have also been something that helped to improve it, but I don't want to take away from this stuff since it did start clearing up shortly after using it." —Casi K. Promising review: "This stuff is my new holy grail for sure. I’ve had hormonal acne my whole life and rosacea, so a lot of things irritate my skin and make it red or breakout. This is so soothing and makes my face feel so soft and moisturized, but not oily. Also works as a makeup remover and gentle cleanser. I feel like this is all I need now, definitely will order more bottles!!" —Emma Get it from Amazon for $11.12+ (available in three sizes). If you have delicate/sensitive skin, it's recommended not to leave this on any longer than 5–10 minutes. Some skin redness is normal and should disappear in about 30 minutes! Promising review: "I have bought this from Amazon and in-store at Walmart, and both have been THE BEST things I have ever used on my skin! I get hormonal acne that will NOT go away. I've used Curology, Proactiv, and Adapalene; this is the only thing that gets rid of my acne and clears a pimple in like TWO DAYS. (I'm talking the big, nasty suckers that never surface and stick around for MONTHS.) It leaves my skin soooo soft, gets rid of oil (I have pretty oily skin), tightens my pores, decreases the purple hyperpigmentation that pimples leave, and clears my complexion. I literally cannot rave about this enough!! Don't even question it — just buy it! Also, a container has 25+ uses in it for me. Leave it on for 30 minutes for oily skin, use it 2–3 times a week, my skin is FLAWLESS! I've NEVER had good skin before this!" —Natalie Get it from Amazon for $12.95+ (available in three sizes). Before buying this, we just want to let you know that Differin is a strong acne product, and depending on your skin's sensitivity, you might need to work your way up to daily use. Also! Since this is a retinoid and retinoids can make you more sensitive to the sun, you should make sure you're applying a daily sunscreen while using this product. If you're able to use this at night vs. in the morning, that's awesome — this way, your skin has some time to recover at night and hopefully poses less of an irritation risk the next day! I’ve had acne since I was in middle school, and I thought once I hit 18 or so that it would go away, but sadly, it did not. For the first 7–8 weeks using this, my acne was pretty bad, and my face was really sensitive. Entering my ninth week with this, my acne is almost completely gone, and my skin is no longer sensitive. Pretty much a night and day difference. I’m going to keep using this and see how it goes, but for now, I feel amazing and am extremely surprised by its effectiveness. I’m hoping with continual use and continual face washing that my acne will disappear completely." —logan Read our Differin gel review to learn more! Promising review: "After going to several dermatologists and not having any luck, I was feeling hopeless. I started to accept my acne was chronic since I’m 25 and have had it since I was 13. My dermatologist had always told me 5% benzoyl peroxide is the same as 10%, so don’t use it. Well, 12 years later and with no results, I decided not to listen to the 'expert' and give it a try for myself. I held out until the six-week mark to give it a full chance. Through dry skin, extra moisturizing, and washing my face with this product twice per day as directed (letting it sit on my face for three to five minutes before washing), I am pleased to report my skin is the clearest it has ever been in the past 12 years. When I was talking to one of my clients about this product, she said, 'I didn’t know you had acne, your skin looks so smooth and porcelain.' Well...that was a new one! I am so glad I took the risk! It will definitely dry out your skin, so find a good moisturizer." —Mackenzie Get it from Amazon for $21.95+ (available in two sizes and formulas). You can learn more about the skincare benefits of rosehip oil at the Cleveland Clinic. Promising review: "Let me start by saying, I've tried almost every oil out there for my face, especially the ones that everyone raves about for acne prone skin including: coconut, avocado, jojoba, hemp seed, tea tree, argan, castor, etc. and every single one has irritated my skin and caused breakouts. It got to the point where I was 100% positive that no oil out there could ever work for my overly sensitive skin type. I took a chance on this oil as a last resort because of a model's recommendation online and she talked about how rosehip oil cured her acne breakout within days. Her skin looks even better than it did before her breakout, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I am SO glad that I did. This is a life changer for me. I will literally never be without this incredible oil ever again. I apply it every night and it gets absorbed beautifully by the skin, clears my breakouts over night, brightens my complexion, smooths, and moisturizes all at once. I even applied it this morning before make up for the first time today and my foundation GLIDED across my skin and looked glowy all day. It's an incredible primer as well! I'm so excited to say that it's been a full week of use and there's not a single breakout in sight from this oil. I can't believe that it's taken me this long to try it. I highly recommend that everyone give this oil a shot. It's done beautiful things for my complexion." —Ashley Check out our TruSkin Vitamin C Serum deep dive for more info! The niacinamide really works for oil control, and the fuller's earth clay made my skin so smooth. I've tried everything from clinical skin lines to dermatology-owned lines, and this delivered the best results for my skin.
